About

The Reeves & Goff law firm is represented by attorneys William G. (Bill) Reeves and Joseph L.

(Joe) Goff. The law firm was established and moved into its current location in Farmington in 1997.  Unlike many other local law firms which advertise an offering of legal services in

a variety of practice areas, from its inception Reeves and Goff determined to prioritize limited practice areas for each of its attorneys.  Although the law firm offers basic legal services

relating to contracts, estate planning, business formation and property rights, each of the attorneys maintains a highly-focused emphasis in one or two primary fields of practice.

Bill devotes the majority of his practice to the field of Family Law, while Joe practices primarily in the fields of Personal Injury and Workers Compensation Law.

Bill obtained his Bachelors Degree in Political Science from the University of Missouri-Columbia, graduating Cum Laude in 1975.  He received an undergraduate scholarship award

for maintaining the highest GPA in the field of Political Science. He received his law degree from the University of Missouri in 1978.  While attending law school he was selected for the Missouri Law Review, having published a casenote commentary and an article relating to Missouri injunction bonds.  While in private practice he authored a feature article relating to equitable adoption which was published in the Missouri Bar Journal in 2001.  He has extensive experience in the field of appellate practice, having written and argued more than forty appellate briefs and successfully defending more than twenty cases on appeal.  Bill has devoted a substantial part of his practice to domestic litigation, and has successfully tried family law

cases throughout his 30+ years of practice. He has also spent a significant part of his time

handling property-related matters, including representation of property owners’ associations, real estate developers, and individual property owners.  He currently serves as general counsel for the City of Desloge and City of Leadington, as well as prosecuting attorney for the City of Desloge.

Joe attended and received his undergraduate Bachelors Degree in Political Science at the University of Missouri-St. Louis.  He attended law school at St. Louis University.  He received his law degree in 1989, and currently has more than 20 years of trial experience.   He initially practiced in the St. Louis metropolitan area until moving to St. Francois County in 1997.  His St. Louis practice focused primarily on Personal Injury and Workers Compensation cases, but included civil litigation in other fields and some criminal defense work. Joe has considerable knowledge and expertise handling both civil and criminal jury trials. He has obtained one of the highest civil settlement awards in St. Francois County, a total $1.7 million award in a vehicular accident case in 2004.  He has successfully tried or settled a number of personal injury and wrongful death cases in both St. Louis and in the 24th Judicial Circuit. Joe presently serves as prosecuting attorney for the City of Leadington, as well as general counsel for a number of local businesses and church organizations.
